Folklore, Myth and Magic

These stories are often interwoven into tales of landscape and history eg;

Fairies and pixies are a part of the folklore associated with the ancient burial mounds on Quantock and Blackdown Hills of Somerset and Devon.

Arthurian Stories - recent tales have included; a re-working of Enid and Geraint making references to Geraints connection to the Blackdown Hills and Exmoor.
Gawain and the Green Knight, making the link with the Green Knight and the Holly Tree.
Tales of Merlin, making links with the Hawthorn Tree and local Dragons.

Mermaids are often linked with rivers and local holy wells. These stories are told with an emphasis on the mermaid as a protector of the waters, as dragon stories are represented as guardians of the land.


Clare has a constantly developing and evolving repetoir of stories. This is informed by a knowledge and study of Celtic lore and beliefs.
