Beaford Arts Project

'Dimpsy Tales'

The Dimpsy time, as I've been telling audiences for a few years, is the twilight time, that magical time when it is half light and half dark. It's an old Devon/Somerset word that has been used to head this project. The aim of the project is to hear the old North Devon stories through the mouths of those who have lived them. Of course in folklore the Dimpsy hour is the fairy hour, the magical hour - so we're expecting a little sparkle!

The project is being led by Richard Rai O' Neill, who's worked with BBC Radio 4, Soho Theatre and the Imperial War Museum. Richard will be working on the final workshops and Performance alongside Clare. Clare is running all the initial workshops.

' I'm finding this an exciting new way of working - it's stretching and pushing me to be more authentic, braver..to allow the space between teller and listener to grow...and that has to be a good thing! '
